About Us

The mission at Grace Speaks is to provide children, teens, and their families with personalized services and guidance to promote confidence in communication and engagement  while meeting the highest potential for success.

What We Do

Speech Therapy

Grace Speaks provides effective therapeutic interventions for a variety of articulation and phonological disorders that impact a person’s speech intelligibility.  Speech sound disorders may include difficulty with articulation (making sounds) and phonological processes (sound patterns).  Children acquire specific speech sounds at different developmental stages as they grow.  Parents of children who have a speech sound disorder or speech delay may say the following:

  • “He/she gets frustrated when I do not know what he/she wants.”

  • “My child avoids speaking because it’s too difficult for him/her.”

  • “I do not understand my child most of the time.”

  • “My baby is not making any sounds yet at 6 months, should I be concerned?”

  • “I can understand my child, but there are certain sounds that he/she still says incorrectly.”

Language Therapy

Grace Speaks offers successful therapeutic remediation of expressive and receptive language delays in children of all ages.  Evidenced-based strategies and techniques are used to stimulate overall language development and to teach language skills  within context to further enhance everyday communication. Parent education and training is a critical component to boost the family’s ability to support the child’s development at home. Parents of children with a delay in language onset may say the following:

  • “He does not repeat any words, however he does point to some pictures in a book.”

  • “My child has difficulty remembering and following directions.”

  • “He/She does not put two words together to ask for something.”

  • “My child can't put his/her thoughts into words.”

Social Skills Development

Social skills development focuses on helping clients improve social connections and social language in order to develop healthy relationships and pleasant communicative exchanges.  Intervention plans are designed to help clients gain skills in social interaction, joint attention, turn-taking, initiating interactions, problem-solving, understanding emotions, pragmatic language, and learning to handle the challenges of social situations in both the school and home environment. Most children with Autism have challenges in the areas of social skills development and pragmatic language skills.
